Keep your politics off my page!!!

I don't know about you, but I've noticed more and more on facebook that people are pushing their political views on everyone.

For instance, there is this thing going around saying some along the lines of who cares that Whitney Houston, a cracked out whore, died when millions of "hard working " Americans die everyday protecting our freedoms.

Now, I'm all for the troops and all, but doesn't that seem like a bit much? If you think about it, most people, in a matter similar to Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse, hadn't mentioned anything positive about Whitney in years, but the minute she died everyone is her biggest fan again.

The same can be said for the troops, to an extent. How many people do you know actually talk about them everyday? With the exception of the few that I know that were over there or have a loved one over there, no one.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that no one dying is ever a good thing, but do you really need to use Whitney's death to create this, for lack of a better term, political hate agenda?

There are other such things that I notice, such as "people that watch Glee are nothing but a bunch of homosexual, bleeding heart liberals", "Sesame Street brainwashes children into believing ____", "God is a Republican, why aren't you?", etc.

It is all just insane and too much, I tell ya.

Remember the days when everyone kept their politics to themselves? I miss that time, I really do.

Well, thanks for reading!

Do you remember...

Break? What break?

I really must be getting old. Either that or I need a calendar because it was just brought to my attention tonight that I have all of next week off for Mardi Gras break. Don't ask me how an entire week of not having be up before the chickens so that I can beat school traffic managed to slip by me, but it did.

Ugh! I'm not sure whether to be frustrated about letting this slip by, or ecstatic because I don't have to go to work next week.

Knowing me, though, somehow, someway I'll be getting up even earlier every day. Yeah, I'm weird like that.

Oh, and for those of you wondering how it is I get a week off for Mardi Gras, well, it one of the perks to teaching in Louisiana, south Louisiana, on top of that!

Thanks for reading!!!

Musical Monday

Happy Musical Monday, everyone! This week, I toyed around with giving you some Grammy moments or remembering Whitney. While my future wife, Adele, proved she is hands down the most talented woman on Earth, there was a time when the same could have been said about Whitney. So, please enjoy one of her biggest hits (yes, i know it was originally a Dolly Parton song) "I Will Always Love You"

Not so super

Like most people in the country, I spent last night watching the Super Bowl. I'm a football, fan, what do you expect? Neither of the teams playing are worthy of my support, so it was more of the lesser of two evils. This year, that happened to have been the Patriots. Ironically, 4 years ago when these two played, the tables were turned.

That point aside, for some reason, I just wasn't feeling it this year. It should be noted that I haven't really had the chance to watch much NFL this year, so that may have had something to do with it, but even so, I'm normally all ready to plop down on the couch and not movie for the 3-4 hrs the big game is on.

As a matter of fact, I missed the 1st quarter because I was playing, ironically, football on my PS3. I was actually more pissed that I missed the national anthem, though (this was before I knew my future wife, Kelly Clarkson, was singing it).

Even my snacks seemed a bit blah. Before you say that perhaps my tastes are changing. Those that were leftover and that I've been eating all week, taste just as good as they always have. So, I guess that was just a fluke, but could it be that I'm over the Super Bowl, or was it just this year?

All in all, though, it was a good game, even if I wanted a different outcome, but things happen, right? Anyway, thanks for reading!

Don't float away

A friend of just got hired at a really small school back in October and ever since then, she's been mentioning something that goes wrong just about every day. Now, she is one of those that complains about the smallest little thing, but apparently one of her complaints was big enough that it attracted the local news.

I've worked in some bad places, but not that have been in such bad shape that they flood. How can they let a place get to this point? It really makes you wonder.
