So, this weekend, as we all know, unless you're lucky enough to have avoided the over hyping, the Jonas Brothers released their movie. Well, apparently, it underperformed according to the projections and comparisons to last year's Hannah Montana movie (which was pretty much the same thing from what I hear). I don't know exactly how much it made, but it came in #2 this weekend.
I told my students about this and about 3 or 4 girls started bawling. I mean literally broke down into tears. You would think I would have told them their parents died or something. I, and the rest of the class, were wondering what was wrong with them when this was going on.
I understand being a fan and all, but crying over a movie being #2? Seriously, that's a bit much. It's not like they made bets with their life savings on them being #1 this weekend...as far as I know. Still, #2 is nothing to sneeze at. I'm sure the Street Fighter movie would love to have been #2, as would every other movie that's out right now.
So, am I the only one that thinks this reaction was a bit much?
