Nine months later ( a little humor)

Jack decided to go skiing with his buddy, Bob. So they loaded up Jack's mini van and headed north. After driving for a few hours, they got caught in a terrible blizzard. They pulled into a nearby farm and asked the attractive lady who answered the door if they could spend the night.

'I realize it's terrible weather out there and I have this huge house all to myself, but I'm recently widowed,' she explained. 'I'm afraid the neighbors will talk if I let you stay in my house.'

'Don't worry,' Jack said. 'We'll be happy to sleep in the barn, and if the weather breaks, we'll be gone at first light.' The lady agreed, and the two men found their way to the barn and settled in for the night.

Come morning, the weather had cleared, and they got on their way. They enjoyed a great weekend of skiing. But about nine months later, Jack got an unexpected letter from an attorney. It took him a few minutes to figure it out, but he finally determined that it was from the attorney of that attractive widow he had met on the ski weekend.

He dropped in on his friend Bob and asked, 'Bob, do you remember that good-looking widow from the farm we stayed at on our ski holiday up north
about 9 months ago?'

'Yes, I do.' said Bob

'Did you, er, happen to get up in the middle of the night, go up to the house
and pay her a visit?'

'Well, um, yes,' Bob said, a little embarrassed about being found out, 'I have to admit that I did.'

'And did you happen to give her my name instead of telling her your name?'

Bob's face turned beet red and he said, 'Yeah, look, I'm sorry, buddy, I'm afraid I did.' 'Why do you ask?'

'She just died and left me everything.'

(And you thought the ending would be different, didn't you?... you know you smiled...now keep that smile for the rest of the day!

Down with the dorms

Picture this...August 1996, a young 17 yr old is off to college and his first dorm and all the joys of college life.

That young man graduated 6 yrs later. What about the dorm? Well, see for yourself...

Apparently, this isn't the only dorm at my college (Northwestern St. University) to be torn down. I hear that all but one are now gone, and the only reason that last one is still standing is because of its historical value (there's a whole history lesson to go into involving it surviving fires and whatnot).

From what I can understand, they're joining in with the fad of building campus apartments.

Still, it is sad. Some of my fondest memories on-campus were had in the dorms. I can only imagine when I go back for football games this fall how different campus will look. At least I know about it, imagine about the alumni who will be coming down that have no idea! Talk about a shock!

btw...the dorm that I spent my first two years in was not as good as I made it out to be. I actually hated living there. The second yr, it was my job to live there, but not a day went by that I didn't want out, but the memories were good. Not sure if that made any sense to anyone but me, but I'm tired!

Hawaiian insult

I've been hearing alot about these "birthers" the past few days. In case you have no idea who they are, they seem to be Republicans who believe that President Obama isn't fit to be president, not because he had only been a U.S Senator for a short time before running (if they had to use anything, that would be the basis I'd go for), but rather that since he was born in Hawaii, he's not a U.S. citizen.

Now, I don't know about you, but that comes off as a bit of a slap in the face to anyone born in Hawaii in a way. I could be totally off in my thinking, though.

This just seems a bit extreme to me. These people are basically alienating an entire state just because they're not happy with the current President. Has partisanship gotten this bad? Or is this...dare I go there....race related?

Really, I would like to know! There are plenty of laws and court cases that uphold the citizenship of people from Hawaii.

Please note that I do not know all the details of these "birthers". I'm sure there is more to their evil plot than just contesting that people (mainly Obama) born in Hawaii aren't U.S. citizens, thus not making them eligible to be POTUS.

Whatever diabolical details that I am not aware of, I'm sure they are just as despicable as this. This just disgusts me that they would sink so low just to attempt to get the man out of office. what are they going to do next? Say he's cheating on Michelle just because he shakes a woman's hand?

They want her to do what?!?

I've never watched that show Gossip Girl, nor do I have any plan to, but I am aware that every girl on there weighs about 80 lbs. Well, apparently, it is believed that they told Hilary Duff to lose weight. Now, if this is true, they haven't officially said it because, as you can imagine, there would be a backlash against them for doing so.

As you can see, Hilary is in no way fat. Yes, she's not stick thin like the rest of the cast, which is the reason they want her to allegedly drop some lbs. According to them, "she won't fit in." WTF?!? Not to be mean, but there's always a bigger friend. Not saying that Hilary is the bigger friend, but rather she is more of what a real woman looks like.

On top of all this, Hilary is not someone you want to be telling to lose weight. She has had issues with her weight in the past. She was chastised for being too chubby in her younger days, then she was too skinny, and now that she's finally happy with her body, these producers want her to lose weight because the rest of the cast thinks texting is more important than eating.

What do you think? I personally think she should make a stand (being the first one to do so), put her foot down and say no to going on a diet just to fit in. All the girls I knew in school ranged in sizes from sticks to making the Earth shake. I've never seen anyplace where they're all the same size. They should let Hilary be herself, and get some more realistic size girls on that show. That's just me, though.

Eye Candy 7/26

Female Hottie: Gabrielle Union

Who know such hotness could come out of Nebraska? Gabrielle Union graces this edition of Eye Candy with her presence. You've seen her in 7th Heaven alongside Jessica Biel (even in their younger days, they were hot), and in such moves as Bring It On, She's All That, Bad Boys II, Cadillac Records, etc. Hang in there, there's more to come. Oh, and fellas, she's on the market again!

Male Hottie: Jason Taylor

I can see the drool from my female readers now. Wipe it up! Last summer, Jason came in 2nd on Dancing With the Stars. While on the show, he gained a massive legion of female followers. I'll admit, I'm jealous of the guy, myself, but he is one of my favorite football players. Hopefully he doesn't get injured this year. Thank goodness he's back at home with the Miami Dolphins. Thanks to The Fitness Diva for (indirectly) suggesting him.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Alexa Davalos

I really went for a random chick here. Honestly, I had someone else tagged to go here, but there was a last minute program change, but that person will get her time in the spotlight soon. Who is Alexa Davalos? Well, she may best be known for her role in The Chronicles of Riddick (which earned her this spot). Be on the lookout for her in next years (unfortunate) remake of Clash of the Titans.

MILF: Charlotte Church

I must really have a thing for Brits, because here's another one! Charlotte Church burst on the scene as a fresh faced classical music sensation with "the voice of an angel". She has since crossed over into pop music, and a few forays into television and movies. Rumor has it that she is supposed to appear in a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother this season. This curvy, buxom blonde is the mother of two children.

Classic/Retro Hottie: Ursula Andress

It was just a matter of time before Ursala ended up as the classic hottie, right? Definitely one of the best known of the Bond girls, Ursala made a name for herself as she came out of the sea in a little white bikini. She has gone on to have quite the career, and at 73 years old is still alive and kicking.

Music soothes the savage blogger

Here it is 5 in the morning and I am still wide awake? I have no idea why. I tried to go to bed, but failed. Watched some ESPN and closed my eyes. Usually that works, no such luck.

Found the most boring thing on TV to watch, still couldn't fall asleep.

Read a couple chapters in a book, no luck.

I don' think I'm any sort of insomniac, and don't really have anything pressing on my mind, so why is it that I can't get to sleep tonight?

Hopefully this is just some sort of fluke thing.

I did turn on some smooth jazz a little while ago and mixed in some classical, and it seems to be working. As I'm typing this, I'm nodding off, so I better end and hit send before I crash on the comp, drooling on the keys and waking up with a keyboard imprint on my face!

Next time I can't sleep, I'm using music. You'd think I would've known that, as a musician.

All because of some stupid dogs?!?

If you're a regular reader of my blog, then you'll know that on occasion I have mentioned I ma no fan of dogs. I'm a cat person. I'm also a fan of Michael Vick. I don't pretend to believe what he did or that dog fighting in general is right, but the man just spent 2 years behind bars and now no one wants to give him a chance? Oh and the commissioner wants to add a 4 game suspension starting from when/if he gets to play in the NFL this year...at least that was the report this afternoon).

So, all this because of some dogs? Really? Do those slobbery, flea ridden, worm infested mongrels mean that much to folks? The way the media and everyone have treated Vick since this whole thing went down a couple year, you'd think he was Bin Laden or Hitler. Seriously, I think Saddam Hussein got more sympathy!

I know that almost all of you out there are in love with your dogs and that's ok. People are entitled to like what they like, but to treat them as if their humans to such an extent that it appears to be costing a man his livelihood is just plain wrong!

For those of you that haven't seen Vick play, it is a sight to see, let me tell you. I hope some team stops cringing in fear of their fans and public relation mumbo jumbo, but rather do what's best for their team. For goodness sakes, Minnesota could pick him up in the case Brett Favre (that's a whole different soap opera) decides to not play for them, since they don't seem to have any faith in Tavares Jackson.

I don't know, I guess I just thought we were a forgiving country, but to me this seems a lot like the Salem witch trials...all because of some dogs! Someone said it best last week, there are guys in the league that have done much worse than Vick, and haven't served any jail time, no suspension, and barely any mention of it, but because he's a high profile player and this involved many Americans favorite animal, he has been made to suffer. Weren't the two years locked away in a cell away from football, running up a debt long enough?

Guess not, because heaven forbid anything happen to a dog. I guarantee you had he been running a prostitution ring, been a gambling bookie, or some sort of Mafia boss, there would not have been this much outrage, and he would have been back on the field as soon as stepped out of jail. This is just shameful!

The insanity of collectors

I'm not one to use Ebay too often. I let the little woman live on there. However, I was looking for a collectors item Mega Man for the original NES that my little brother wanted, and figured that'd be the best place to find it. Of course, I could just as easily let him have mine, but then I'd have to replace it, so either way you look at it, one way or the other I'd be bidding on it.

Anyway, I did the usual bidding and such. The auction was about to close at $34 plus shipping and handling. Then all of a sudden some random person come in and starts running up the price. We're not talking like minor increments, either.

The price of this thing went from $34 with 5 minutes left to $4309.22! You could get a used car or something else more useful for that amount. Am I alone in thinking that's a bit much? Unless it some sort of Mega Man or NES museum curator, there is no reason to be paying that much for a video game. *SIGH*

Well, back to find another one, I suppose. This is the reason I hate ebay, btw!

Time for a little EC rant

Ok, well, I'm really gonna rant, but, like most of us, I am concerned about the mysterious new owners. I'm taking the "wait and see" attitude and hoping ZipRunner doesn't screw anything up, make us pay, or totally change the way things are run, but in the back of my mind I'm still wondering what really is going to happen. Let's face it, you know you are, too, but they can't do much worse than Graham has done in the last few months, can they?

While I'm on the EC topic, maybe I'm the only one that has noticed this, but I've seen that the blogs I advertise on are getting little to no clicks. It used to be that they'd get between 10-200, depending on the blog and stuff. Now, the highest number I've gotten has been like 7. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with paid ads getting in the way since I tend to stay away from those that have paid ads, but you never can tell, y'know?

Oh, Entrecard, how you have fallen! Maybe the new owners will do something about all this. We can hope, right?

Jeans

Over the years, jeans have gone through a variety of styles. In the old west, they were worn so tight they might as well have been spandex. In the 70s, they became bell bottoms. The late 90s brought us the baggy trend. All of these styles are worn in some shape, form, or fashion still today. I myself prefer the loose look.

Last week, President Obama threw out the first pitch at baseball's All-Star game. I'm no fan of baseball(ironically, I played in high school), but I did tune in to watch said pitch. Now all of a sudden, people are complaining about his jeans. HIS JEANS!!!

Good grief, have we become that much of a criticizing society that a man can't even wear a pair of comfortable jeans without facing criticism? I realize he's the President and all, but he is human. I mean, good grief, was he supposed to go out there in his usual business suit? I think not.

He says it best when defending his jeans, "They're comfortable."

Of course knowing the way some people think, that simple statement will get turned into something un-American or anti-Conservative. It's ridiculous how far we've fallen in this day and age.

We know live in a world where a man can't wear a pair of comfortable jeans in peace!

Eye Candy 7/19

Female Hottie: Holly Madison

Arguably the prettiest (and hottest) of Hugh Hefner's previous incarnation of Girls Next Door. Holly has gone from Playmate to gaining some sort of position with Playboy magazine. I'm not sure what it is, exactly, though. She also replaced the injured Jewel on this past season's Dancing With the Stars. Unfortunately, that has been her non-Playboy career high to date. Hopefully someone will give her a show like they did Kendra and Bridget and we can see more of her (as if we haven't seen it all already...lol)

Male Hottie: Rupert Grint

Is it me, or does this spot keep getting filled with British guys? Anyway, there really is no need to introduce this guy. With the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, I figured he'd be a good choice, especially since Daniel Radcliffe joined "the club" in a much earlier edition.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Martine McCutcheon

Alright, it's official, the Brits are taking over! lol Martine is truly a random hottie. She appeared in a very substantial role in the movie, Love Actually, but because Hollywood has such unrealistic body standards, she never gained any more success than that one film. She has however been working in her native UK, and even has a bit of a recording career. Hopefully she'll return to the states so we can enjoy her curvy goodness. I still can't believe they think she's "chunky"!

MILF: Nelly Furtado

This week's MILF isn't British...lol Nelly Furtado is a highly successful singer. That exotic look she has comes from being half Portuguese, half Canadian. Currently, Nelly is working on a Spanish album, but in the meantime, on top of her usual performing duties, she's taking care of her 6 yr old daughter.

Classic/Retro Hottie: Ava Gardner

This weeks stunningly beautiful hottie from times gone by is Ava Gardner. Miss Gardner was a huge star of the '50s. Ava married 3 times (Mickey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and Frank Sinatra). Ava had quite the resume to her name, but like may stars from the 50s, her career went on a downturn at the end of the decade and film roles became sparse. She dies of pneumonia in 1990, but she's still remembered on and is not only a classic hottie, but a legend, as well.

Movie etiquette

It seems like every week I'm complaining about people's behavior in some form or another. Well, this week is no exception.

So, the little woman and I went to see Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I haven't put up a review on my movie blog, yet, but I will before I go to bed tonight.

Maybe it's just me, but I seem to remember the days when it was just common courtesy to sit down during a movie and be courteous to your fellow movie patrons. Apparently, those days are gone, though.

Today, I think I had to endure some of the rudest people to ever sit in a theater. First they kept crawling over me to go the concession stand or bathroom or something. If they had some kind of medical issue, such as diarrhea or something, then I retract this statement, but otherwise, folks need to learn to take care of their business before they come into the theater.

Once those trailers start, people should be seated. If it was up to me, the doors would be locked and ushers would be guarding the doors, similar to the way they do if you go to a play or musical.

I despise texting. Aside from texting while driving, texting during the movies is about as bad as it can get. As you can guess, aside from getting up and down crawling over people the entire movie, I could swear just about everyone in the place was texting. These people sitting in front of me, and I kid you not on this, were texting each other. They were sitting next to each other and texting! WTF?!? I maintain my stance that if you can't wait the length of a movie to talk to someone, then you have some serious issues. Maybe the overreactive people that run airport security should start inspecting folks at the movies and confiscating cell phones.

No, I take that back. The minute they do that is when an emergency happens and they get sued, but something needs to be done.

Finally, these tween girls that I decided to sit near me would not stop talking throughout the entire movie. It is one thing to make clever quips here and there, but to sit there and talk about useless gossip (yes, i heard the entire conversation) just isn't right. Why pay the outrageous ticket (and food since they bought what appeared to be everything at the concession stand) prices if all you're gonna do is sit there and talk, y'know?

I guess the days of politeness are numbered. *SIGH* Not much that can be done, I guess, except lead by example. Maybe it'll catch on.

He ain't dead, yet

I can't remember if I posted about it on here, but a few months ago, a good friend of mine was on the phone with her fiancee when all of a sudden she heard gunshots on the other end and then it got quiet. She called the cops to go check things out and they came back and told her that he had killed himself.

You'd think that have been it, right? WRONG!!!

A few days ago, guess who called her, but the living dead. Yes, he had been alive and well for these few months, just was getting nervous about the wedding stuff. The blood the police saw was from him shooting his dog.

Now, I don't know about you, but it perfectly normal to get cold feet and all, but it is never, I repeat...NEVER ok to fake your death just to get out of talking about stuff. It just makes things worse.

She says she's not going to take him back and that this was the last straw. Good for her...of course, she also walked in on him and other girls numerous times which caused breakups and she keeps going back, so I'm taking that with a grain of salt.

Am I wrong in thinking this is unforgivable, though...and I'm a very forgiving person!

Puff, puff, give

I was listening to the radio today as I was driving around town and apparently there is some kid of legislature being introduced to ban smoking for soldiers. WTF?!?

Now, I've never served in the military short of being in AFJROTC for a couple years in high school. However, as a former smoker, I know that there is a relaxing feeling that can come along with it.

I'm not sure which is worse, the fact that they want to take away what little luxury the soldiers have left while they are serving and protecting our freedoms, or that they want to make a law of this?

Don't they have more important things to worry about up there on Capitol Hill? Or is this why our country seems to be going to hell in a handbasket...they make these frivolous pointless laws!

I think they, like everyone else, should be allowed to smoke in designated places. Those that can't take it can move away from the smoke. Now that I no longer smoke (I quit at the behest of my major professors), it really doesn't bother me to get a whiff here and there, but I can understand how some folks wouldn't want that going int their lungs. However, these are also the same people that drink bottled water becuse they think tap water is too unclean. Yet, it wasn't that long ago that it was perfectly fine for them to drink. Hell, chances are, they even were out there drinking out of the water hose in their yards as kids!

Ugh! Folks just need to chill out and let things be. We are so uptight about everything these days that its ridiculous!

Slacking off...

I have to apologize to my regular readers and commenters. I've been slacking off the past few weeks. Been a bit busy getting stuff ready for the upcoming school year and whatnot. That should all be done for the next couple of weeks, though, and I'll be able to focus on this blog again.

So, please bear with me, and hang in there, I'll be back in rare blogging form soon enough :)

Hitler is back

With Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince coming out this week, it comes to mind that Harry's nemesis is Voldemort, a villain who was once vanquished and then returned with the aid of his helpers/followers (that's a watered down version of those events).

Anyway, I'm not a watcher of Fox News. As a matter of fact, with the exception of Shepherd Smith, I don't even give that mess a second thought, short of flipping through and hearing what fuel Bill O'Reilly will give Keith Olbermann for countdown.

A friend of mine sent this video to me. Now, I'm very tolerant of all viewpoints and don't condemn anyone for what they say, unless its something that is just so blatantly wrong that it can't go without mention.

This guy wants a pure race. Last time someone went around clamoring for a pure race, he more or less started a war. Remember that guy, Hitler. Yes, I'm comparing this guy to Hitler. He's free to say what he feels and all, but to go on TV chastising the US for marrying other races. Even Joel on The Soup was speechless on this.

I have to wonder, though, as Voldemort's return was riddles with hints here and there, if this is this guy is some kind of Neo-Hitler emissary.

Yeah, that theory sounds gives us all a chuckle, but what he said is highly offensive and looking at that chick's face, even took the ultra-conservative Fox folks by surprise.

What do you think?

TV is getting heavy

Is it just me, or is there a sudden shift in TV programming towards the larger members of the population? I don't mean this in any kind of disrespectful way, just an observation.

For instance, there is this show called Dance Your Pants Off or something like that. It's a weight loss/dance competition show. Think Biggest Loser meets Dancing With the Stars. I haven't watched it yet, but they talk about it all the time on The Soup and it doesn't look demeaning.

Coming soon is this reality dating show on FOX where instead of anorexic drunk women falling for some guy who they think is the ideal "Prince Charming", they have women with curves falling for a heftier guy. I can't think of the name of this thing right now, but I'm actually looking forward to it. Despite the fact that its another stupid reality dating show, the fact remains that these are non-skinny folks.

Is this the beginning of the end of anorexic folks on screen and discrimination against bigger people? One can only wait and see.

What do you think?

Addiction

So, last night, around this time, I was doing my nightly droppings and out of nowhere the internet just decided to stop working. Now, I was getting a bit sleepy, and usually when the net goes out, it isn't out for too long, but I just went on and went to bed.

This morning, I woke up and tried to continue my dropping and lo and behold, still no net. WTF?!? 12 hours and still no net? I figure they're just working on something, though, so I went and ran some errands and came back. Still no net. Frustrated and feeling like a crackhead in his first day of rehab, I called the cable company to see what the deal was. Turns out, they weren't working on anything, but rather it was a problem with the the modem communicating with the router or something or other.

Anyway, I came to the realization that *SIGH* I am addicted to the internet. There I said it. As said as it is to say, I can't remember the time before on-line surfing. Had it not been for the power going out in September thanks to Gustav, who knows when I would have last had a disconnect.

So, now that I've figured out my addiction (there are plenty worse things I could be latched onto, btw), I've decided to step down on my net usage. We'll see how long it lasts, but its worth a try.

Have some shame

I'm sure we've all seen the jokes on TV and/or movies where a plumber's pants are falling down when he bends over, right?

Well, picture that on a woman strolling across the supermarket parking lot with her cart. That's right. This woman, who looked like she lived on fried chicken and government cheese, had her pants nearly falling off of her.

What made it worse is that it looked like she had no underwear on. Don't people have any shame anymore?

Of course, had this been a woman with a body like Halle Berry, Pamela Anderson, Megan Fox, etc., no doubt I wouldn't be saying anything about this.

Also in the parking lot, this couple looked like they were about to get down and dirty right there (with their kid watching). I'm no fan of PDA, but good grief, you'd think they'd have been able to control themselves, especially with the kid there. Maybe it's just me.

Who does this guy think he is

As I'm sitting here flipping back and forth to the coverage of the Memorial for Michal Jackson, a friend of mine sent me a video from Congressman Peter King.

I refuse to post it here, but he basically says Michael did some singin' and dancin' and wonders what we are glorifying him for. Now, before the conservatives come flying at me, I better say that he does bring up some good points, such as firemen, solidoers and all not getting the respect they deserve and this MJ coverage has gone too far, but that's not that has my ire raised.

This guy seems to be stuck on the dark side of Michael's life. A part that, in all honesty, seems to only be brought up (and I hate to make this political) by conservatives.

Everyone has a dark side. Look at the recently murdered Steve McNair. He was the poster child for what an NFL qb should be, but his final days have been mired with stuff that you would never have thought him capable of.

Elvis, Marilyn, Mozart, JFK...the list goes on. Yes, they were great people, but they also had this dark side to them. Do we remember them for that, or their accomplishments?

MJ's resume and charity work dwarf his alleged crime. Is it so wrong to want to remember his life? No.

Now, I will say, I am getting a bit tired of all this coverage. I seriously think they're just making up stuff now. After today, they need put it to rest, unless something big happens like he rises out of the ground or something.

lol if he did that, then he better sing "Thriller" hahaha

Eye Candy 4/5

Female Hottie: Venus Williams

This week's female hottie may have just lost to her little sister in the title match at Wimbledon, but that doesn't decrease her hot factor. Tall, muscular, athletic...need I say more?

Male Hottie: Josh Duhamel

Believe it or not, there are other actors in the Transformer movies that Shia Lebeouf and Megan Fox, like Josh Duhamel, here. I don't know much else about him, other than he's married to Fergie and was on that show Las Vegas.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Daphne Zuniga

I'm actually surprised Daphne isn't a much more popular actress. She's a total hottie, and is very talented to boot. She's had roles in Melrose Place, Nip/Tuck, One Tree Hill, and earns this spot with her appearance in the movie Spaceballs.

MILF: Naomi Watts

Look at this woman. Would you believe she is a mother of 2 boys? I know I can't. Naomi has had roles in a variety of film, and even has an Academy Award nomination on her resume. Let's keep an eye out for more of her hotness, shall we?

Classic/Retro Hottie: Dawn Wells

To this day, there is still an ongoing debate as to who is hotter Ginger, or Mary Ann. Well, here's Mary Ann, Dawn Wells. At 70 years old, she's still mostly known for that role, but she did do a few other roles, but as you can see, she'll always be remembered as Mary Ann.

**Side Note** somehow I foolishly deleted last week's eye candy post, so here they are again with out the spiel.

Female Hottie: Rachael Leigh Cook

Male Hottie: Matt Damon
Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Isabel Lucas

Mommy's guilt trip

So, I called the 'rents this afternoon. The usual call. Pleasantries, how are things going. Asking if I'd been keeping up with the Michael Jackson stuff, blah, blah, blah. Then I get the guilt trip.

Mothers are known for guilt tripping heir kids, and usually I manage to get away from these, but with my sister going for a visit this holiday weekend, I guess she figured it was time to lay the guilt on me, especially since I haven't been back for awhile (a point she made sure to mention more than a few times).

Now, I'm no one to run visit on holidays. She knows that. I'm of the belief that it should be no different to visit on December 25th than June 25th, y'know? Plus, I hate driving through holiday traffic.

If I was able to get away sometime this summer, I would go, but that just doesn't look like it's gonna happen until until Labor Day.

To add to the guilt, she just happened to conveniently bring up the fact that my little brother is 17 and looking for a job and that it would be nice if I could send him a couple dollars. Nothing wrong with that...it's just the way she snuck it in there....more guilt.

Oh well, I guess it happens, right?

Anyone have any idea where a 17 yr old autistic boy can work? No one seems to want to hire him.
