TV is getting heavy

Is it just me, or is there a sudden shift in TV programming towards the larger members of the population? I don't mean this in any kind of disrespectful way, just an observation.

For instance, there is this show called Dance Your Pants Off or something like that. It's a weight loss/dance competition show. Think Biggest Loser meets Dancing With the Stars. I haven't watched it yet, but they talk about it all the time on The Soup and it doesn't look demeaning.

Coming soon is this reality dating show on FOX where instead of anorexic drunk women falling for some guy who they think is the ideal "Prince Charming", they have women with curves falling for a heftier guy. I can't think of the name of this thing right now, but I'm actually looking forward to it. Despite the fact that its another stupid reality dating show, the fact remains that these are non-skinny folks.

Is this the beginning of the end of anorexic folks on screen and discrimination against bigger people? One can only wait and see.

What do you think?

Regardless of whether it's a shift to heftier heights, the fact remains that there are too many of these dumb reality shows going around.

i tend to agrew with you about the reality shows, but this is still something miraculaous considering how they tend to only find sticks and beauty pagent rejects
