As I'm sitting here flipping back and forth to the coverage of the Memorial for Michal Jackson, a friend of mine sent me a video from Congressman Peter King.
I refuse to post it here, but he basically says Michael did some singin' and dancin' and wonders what we are glorifying him for. Now, before the conservatives come flying at me, I better say that he does bring up some good points, such as firemen, solidoers and all not getting the respect they deserve and this MJ coverage has gone too far, but that's not that has my ire raised.
This guy seems to be stuck on the dark side of Michael's life. A part that, in all honesty, seems to only be brought up (and I hate to make this political) by conservatives.
Everyone has a dark side. Look at the recently murdered Steve McNair. He was the poster child for what an NFL qb should be, but his final days have been mired with stuff that you would never have thought him capable of.
Elvis, Marilyn, Mozart, JFK...the list goes on. Yes, they were great people, but they also had this dark side to them. Do we remember them for that, or their accomplishments?
MJ's resume and charity work dwarf his alleged crime. Is it so wrong to want to remember his life? No.
Now, I will say, I am getting a bit tired of all this coverage. I seriously think they're just making up stuff now. After today, they need put it to rest, unless something big happens like he rises out of the ground or something.
lol if he did that, then he better sing "Thriller" hahaha
