Female Hottie: Gemma Arterton

British actress Gemma Arterton is this week's female hottie. She is best known to American audiences for her roles in Clash of the Titans (the remake) and this summer's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. It looks as if her career on this side of the pond is set to take off. Let's hope we get to see more of this fair skinned hottie!

Male Hottie: Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Yeah, Joseph Gordon-Levitt isn't exactly in the same caliber of the other guys that have filled this spot, but I had a request for him. It is truly amazing how the little kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun has grown up to be Cobra Commander in G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and other blockbusters in the past couple of years, such as (500) Days of Summer, Stop-Loss, 10 Things I Hate About You, and this summer's Inception. The guy is a true talent, as he demonstrated when he hosted Saturday Night Live, so ladies take notice, you may be drooling over him before you know it.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Sydney Poitier

This week's random hottie comes from the movie Grindhouse: Death Proof. She is also the daughter of screen legend Sidney Poitier. The future is bright for this leggy beauty, and hopefully we'll see more of her. In the meantime you can catch her in reruns of Joan of Arcadia, Veronica Mars, or the Knight Rider TV movie that launched the crappy remake TV show.

MILF: Diana Krall

Jazz crooner Diana Krall is our MILF for the week. Along with winning a Grammys, she gave borth to wins in 2006 with husband Elvis Costello. Looks, voice, and piano skills...can't get much better than this, can you?

Classic/Retro Hottie: Cheryl Tiegs

Cheryl Tiegs was a huge swimsuit model in the 70s and occasional actress. Just as Farrah Fawcett became synonymously known for one poster, so did Tiegs. Recently, Cheryl has taken modeling back up and can be seen as a judge on True Beauty, as well as selling her own line of wigs and Revlon products.

Enjoy

So, college football season kicks into full swing next weekend. guess I should enjoy the empty streets this weekend, then, because for the next couple of months Saturdays are going be full of packed roadways, especially on days when both colleges (LSU and Southern University) here in town have home games.

Oh well, it'll be nice to have something to on Saturdays again instead of complain about how boring baseball, golf, or one of those other sports that no one else watches, or one of those 2nd or 3rd rate movies that no one watched when there were new is on...lol

Female Hottie: Aarti Sequeira

Keep on the lookout for this week's female hottie. Aarti Sequeira just won The Next Food Network Star and will be premiering her new show tonight. From what I've gathered of what I've seen of this Indian beauty, she is a hybrid of Rachel Ray and Giada Delaurentiis, in terms of personality. Then of course, she's a total cutie.

Male Hottie: John Stamos

This week's male hottie was suggested to me by a facebook friend. Most of us know John Stamos as Uncle Jessie from Full House. Guys are jealous of the for marrying (and divorcing) Rebecca Romijn. He will be appearing in Glee this fall, though it hasn't been revealed how many episodes. I'm sure with his Broadway background, he'll be belting out a few songs.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Alice Eve

This week's random hottie is a fast up and comer in Hollywood. She has most recently been seen in Sex & the City 2 and her starring role in She's Out of My League. She is set to star in next summer's X-Men: First Class. I say we keep an eye out for this buxom, blonde, British beauty.

MILF: Jessica Alba

Jessica Alba is a recent addition to the ranks of MILF, having just given birth to her daughter. Jessica has appeared in numerous films including both Fantastic Four movies, Sin City, Good Luck Chuck, Valentine's Day, Honey, etc., but I fondly remember the beginning of her career in the TV series Dark Angel. I'm not exactly a fan of Jessica's apparent loss of her curvy figure, but she is still a genuine hottie!

Classic/Retro Hottie: Jennifer Beals

This week's retro hottie is best known for her role in Flashdance or her more recent time in the series The L-Word. Jennifer Beals has also appeared in The Book of Eli, The Grudge 2, Lie to Me, Law & Order, and some small, low-budget films and TV shows. At 46 years young, she is still going strong. She is set to appear in a new series on Fox this fall called Ride-Along.

Comments

Since my hiatus from EC, I jave noticed that comments here have gone down. That's fine. I expected it.

However, this morning I woke up to a ton of anonymous comments. I thought maybe someone random person was actually reading my blog. How wrong could I have been.

These were just some spam. This isn't the first time this has happened, either. Usually, though, it's 1 or 2, not almost every post I've ever made!

Now, I know we all hate having to type in a word after we leave a comment. So, I won't go that far, yet. I am changing my setting to where I have to approve comments first. So, don't get or feel bad that your comments isn't immediately showing up. As soon as I get the chance, I'll approve it and it will show.

For the few of you out there that read and comment, thank you and I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

What is Krispy Kreme thinking?

It appears as though the powers that be at Krispy Kreme have been watching a little too much of The Boondocks.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, this is their new item, a cheeseburger using donuts for the bun.

It was actually described in a first season episode of the hit [adult swim] series The Boondocks, as you can see here...

Now look, I'm all about a delicious burger, but you have to draw the line somewhere! It works for cartoon characters because they can't die, and even if they do, all it takes is for the artists and writers to make up some story and bring them back.

Like they say in the clip, though, if they serve this thing, it'll cause death. I thought that KFC chicken burger thing was bad, but this is worse.

As much as I'm sitting here complaining about it, part of me is curious. Seems like it'd be one of those things to try once every blue moon, and then hit the gym hard right after.

I'm far from being the most health conscious person around, make no mistake about that, but even I know this is a bad idea. I could understand if they would've done this to tie in to that episode or something ,but that was like 3 or 4 years ago!

Maybe I'm overreacting. What do you guys think? Is this a bad idea, or some kind of retaliation to all the health food nuts out there? Or is it just something different from Krispy Kreme?

Eye Candy 8/15

Female Hottie: Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Mary Elizabeth Winstead isn't a household name, but she is making her second appearance here (she was a random hottie the first time). She can currently be seen in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and has appeared in both Grindhouse movies, as well as Passions, Sky High, Make It Happen, Live Free or Dir Hard, Wolf Lake, and the upcoming movie The Thing. With a face and body like that, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of this hottie soon.

Male Hottie: Matthew Morrison

Matthew Morrison is known as Will Schuster on the hit show Glee. It seems as every woman I know was already drooling over this guy before this picture came out, but now they seem to stop dead in their tracks! He has also appeared in Sex & the City, Music and Lyrics, Dan in Real Life, and a few other small roles. Don't worry ladies, he'll be around for at least 3 more seasons.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Adrianne Palicki
Adrianne Palicki gets this spot for her appearance in the movie Legion, but she is best known for being on the first 3 season of Friday Night Lights. She has also appeared in Smallville, Women in Trouble, Supernatural, CSI. CSI: Miami, and will be appearing in Elektra Luxx and Red Dawn later thus year, as well as returning to television in the new Fox series Lonestar.

MILF: Amanda Beard

This week's MILF comes from the sporting world. Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard has won medals in almost all of the events. She has also appeared in Playboy, FHM, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition and can be seen as a correspondent for The Best Damn Sports Show Period. In September, she gave birth to her first child.

Classic/retro Hottie: Dorothy Dandridge

This week's classic hottie may best be known for playing Bess in the 1959 movie Porgy & Bess as well as the titular role in Carmen Jones. Dorothy was a pioneer for African American entertainers, as she was trhe first to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress. Aside from her various film roles, Dorothy was also a singer. In 1999, a biopic was made starring Halle Berry. Since then, Dorothy's legacy has been cemented and she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Quote of the Week

Left handed people have rights, too!

They walk among us...

A friend sent this to me, and I thought I'd share...

Evans, a 32-year-old wife and mother of two, got stuck on the first question
and proceeded to make what fans of the show are dubbing 'the absolute worst use
of lifelines ever.' After being introduced to the show's host
Meredith Vieira, Evans was posed with a typically easy initial $100 question.

The question was: 'Which of the following is the largest?'

A) A Peanut
B) An Elephant
C) The Moon
D) Hey, who you calling large?

Immediately Mrs. Evans was struck with an all consuming panic as she did not
readily know the answer. 'Hmm, oh boy, that's a toughie,' said Evans,
as Vieira did her level best to hide her disbelief.
'I mean, I'm sure I've heard of some of these things before,
but I have no idea how large they would be.'

Evans made the decision to use the first of her three lifelines, the 50/50.
Answers A and D were removed, leaving her to decide which was
bigger, an elephant or the moon. However, faced with an incredibly
easy question, Evans still remained unsure..

'Oh! It removed the two I was leaning towards!' exclaimed Evans.
'Darn. I think I better phone a friend.'
Mrs. Evans asked to be connected with her friend
Betsy, who is an office assistant.

'Hi Betsy! How are you? This is Kathy! I'm on TV!' said Evans,
wasting the first seven seconds of her call.
'Ok, I got an important question. Which of the following is the largest?
B, an elephant, or C, the moon. 15 seconds hun.'
Betsy quickly replied that the answer was C, the moon.
Evans proceeded to argue with her friend for the remaining ten seconds.
'Betsy, are you sure?' said Evans. 'How sure are you? Duh, that can't be it.'

To everyone's astonishment, the moronic Evans declined to take her friend's
advice. 'I just don't know if I can trust Betsy. She's not all that bright.
So I think I'd like to ask the audience,' said Evans.

Asked to vote on the correct answer, the audience returned 98% in favor of
answer C, 'The Moon.' Having used up all her lifelines,
Evans then made the dumbest choice of her life.

'Wow, seems like everybody is against what I'm thinking,' said the
too-stupid-to-live Evans. 'But you know, sometimes you just got to go with
your gut. So, let's see... I'm going to have to go with B, an elephant. Final answer.'

Evans sat before the dumbfounded audience, the only one waiting with bated breath -
and was told that she was wrong, and that the answer was in fact, C, 'The Moon.'

Some guy bought a new fridge for his house.
To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a
sign on it saying: 'Free to good home. You want it, you take it.'
For three days the fridge sat there without anyone looking twice.
He eventually decided that people were too mistrustful of this deal.
So he changed the sign to read: 'Fridge for sale $50.'

The next day someone stole it!

he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning.

My brother explained that the sun rises in the east

'Oh, I don't keep up with all that stuff....'

My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria,

She drove down in a convertible, but said
she 'didn't think I'd get sunburned
because the car was moving'.

I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman
with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain.
My friend said, 'Ouch! The chain must rip

I had to explain that a person's nose and ear
remain the same distance apart no

I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area and.

While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man
ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and

then said 'Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry
enough to eat 6 pieces.

Dumb as a box of Rocks
A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF THE KIND OF REPRESENTATION WE HAVE IN CONGRESS, TRUE STORY:

A noted psychiatrist was a guest speaker at an academic function whereNancy Pelosi happened to appear. Ms Pelosi took the opportunity to schmooze the good doctor a bit and asked him a question with which he was most at ease.

'Would you mind telling me, Doctor,' she asked, 'how you detect a mental deficiency in somebody who appears completely normal?'

'Nothing is easier,' he replied. 'You ask a simple question which anyone should answer with no trouble. If the person hesitates, that puts you on the track.'

'What sort of question?' asked Pelosi.

Well, you might ask, 'Captain Cook made three trips around the world and died during one of them. Which one?''

Pelosi thought a moment, and then said with a nervous laugh, 'You wouldn't happen to have another example would you? I must confess I don't know much about history.'

Did I recover just in time?

Last week was quite the ordeal. Nothing bad, just a very intense band camp. We got lots accomplished. That's the good part.

The bad part, they turned the sprinklers on while we out there practicing. I could swear they planted ants in the practice field. The wooden podium that we directors use is on its last legs. I don't even get up on that thing anymore. Let the old guys do it...lol

We lost 5 students during the course of camp. 3 of which were because of the parents believing what the coaches have been saying about bossman. Yeah, the stereotypes of the band director and head football coach not getting along are true at this school. No wonder he's planning on leaving after this year. Ironically, I've had no problem with coach, especially since my aunt taught him in middle school...lol The other 2 moved. Can't do anything about that.

Anyway, to learn half of a halftime show in the span of 6 days amidst all the controversy is pretty impressive. This week has been nothing more than those pointless meetings that all teachers hate.

School starts Monday. *SIGH* Where did the summer go?

Well, thanks for listening/reading!

Caught up

Looks like I'm finally caught up from last week where I was too tired to blink by the time I got home from band camp. I should be posting some posts tomorrow catching all my readers up on everything.

In the meantime, I'm catching up on my movie blog today. Feel free to swing over there if you haven't.

Thanks for reading!

Eye Candy 8/8

Female Hottie: Audrey Tautou

Our first hottie for this week is best known for her title role in the movie Amelie. Audrey Tautou is a French actress whom we've seen here in the states a couple of times (The Da Vinci Code and Coco Before Chanel). I don't typically go for her artsy-fartsy type of movies, but I'll watch them to see this genuine beauty!

Male Hottie: Craig Parker

Craig Parker is not a household name, unless you're into the fantasy genre of TV and movies. He is best known for his roles in the Lord of the Rings movies (he played Haldir and voiced Gothmog), various roles in Xena: Warrior Princess and, as you can tell from this picture Legend of the Seeker. Parker also played an important role in the final episodes of this season's Spartacus:Blood & Sand. The future is wide open for this guy, so keep an eye out ladies.

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Aimee Teegarden

With Friday Night Lights ending this past weekend, it'll be a whole 9 months before I get to see this week's random hottie in any of the new episodes (since I don't have DirecTV). Aimee Teegarden has also appeared in Legend of the Seeker, Hannah Montana, CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and a few other shows. With looks like that, along with the talent to back it up, I'm sure we'll see more of her soon.

MILF: Christina Milian

Christina Milian is a very new MILF, having just given birth to her first child in late February. Milian started her career as a singer, with hits like "AM to PM" and "Dip it Low". Lately, she has been concentrating more on her acting, appearing in Be Cool, Man of the House, Love Don't Cost a Thing, Bring it On: All or Nothing, and most recently, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Let's see what the future holds for her, shall we?

Classic/Retro Hottie: Annie Potts

Annie Potts may best be known for her time as Mary Jo Sugarbaker on Designing Women or as Jeniune Melnitz from the Ghostbusters franchise. Younger audiences may recognize her voice as that of Bo Peep from the Toy Story movies. Annie has appeared in pretty much everything from the time she arrived in Hollywood such as Pretty in Pink, The Twilight Zone, Ugly Betty, Law & Order: SVU, Magnum, P.I., Who's Harry Crumb?...and the list goes on. Looks and talent...wow!

Are they that hard up for money?

I just finished reading this article that said the Beach Boys' lawyers...note the lawyers and not the band themselves...want to sue Katy Perry because of one little line that Snoop Dogg utters at the end of his rap as an homage to the song, "California Girls".

My issue with this is, first off, the Beach Boys don't have a problem with it, so why should the lawyers? Can we say frivolous lawsuit?

Second, the songs have nothing in common, but if you want to get picky, country singer Gretchen Wilson did a "California Girls" song of her own a year or two ago and there was no stink about it.

My guess is that since Katy Perry is one of the hottest acts around right now, the lawyers want to capitalize on the moment and perhaps spin it into some publicity.

Whatever the reason, this is ridiculous and further proof we don't need lawyers!

Band camp storm

So, for those of you wondering where my posts have been this week, I've been occupied with band camp. no worries, though, 1 more week and it'll be done. Of course, by then, school will be back in session --rolls eyes--

So, anyway, as we were outside learning drill today, off in the distance we can see this big, black, ominous cloud that looked as if it were going to veer off and go in another direction.

5 minutes later, we found out to be wrong, as it came...complete with gusting winds and heavy rains. Needless to say we had am music rehearsal inside the gym (only place with A/C on campus until school starts...long story for another time).

In the middle of rehearsal, though, the power goes out. Here's the impressive part. The students kept playing and didn't freak out...unless you count the cheerleaders that were up in the top level. That's a true sign of maturity and discipline I haven't seen from a high school band in quite some time.

Of course, they spent the time without power texting people right next to them. Ugh! I hate texting!

Eye Candy 8/1

Female Hottie: Winona Ryder

Winona Ryder is known as one of the rebellious actresses of the late 80s-early 90s. Aside from her appearances in movies such as Dracula, Little Women, Heathers, Mr. Deeds, Beetlejuice and a host of others, not to mention a cameo in last summer's Star Trek. Unfortunately, it took a shoplifting incident for her to gain infamy. Still, she is quite the hottie. You could get lost in those beautiful, big brown eyes.

Male Hottie: Usher

More than a few women I know literally stop in their tracks when they even hear this guy's voice, let alone see him, especially with his shirt off. Hard to believe that he has grown up in the spotlight. With hits such as "Yeah", "Nice and Slow", "You Make Me Wanna", "Confessions, pt. II", etc., as well as film and TV appearances like She's All That, 7th Heaven,, and The Faculty. Usher is also part owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers and is responsible for inflicting Justin Bieber on the world. Not quote sure that's a forgivable offense...lol

Random Hottie from a movie or TV show seen this week: Melonie Diaz

This week's random hottie comes to us from the movie Assassination of a High School President. Melonie Diaz is up and coming in Hollywood, with appearances in movies and TV sows such as Lords of Dogtown, Nip/Tuck, Itty Bitty Titty Committee, Law & Order, Be Kind Rewind, and Hamlet 2. We'll be sure to keep an eye out for her.

MILF: Marie Osmond

Currently, you can see this week's MILF on those Nutrisystem commercials, but Marie Osmond is better known as a performer from back in the day with her family, most notably her brother Donnie. Recently, she was seen on Dancing With the Stars, coming in 3rd place (who can forget her fainting spell?). She has 8 children from two marriages...yes, I said EIGHT!!!!

Classic/Retro Hottie: Kathryn Grayson

This week's retro hottie unfortunately left us earlier this year. Grayson is bets known as a musical actress. Her resume includes her roles in Show Boat, Anchors Aweigh, Kiss Me Kate, Till The Clouds Roll By, Ziegfeld Follies, and a host of others. She was a true beauty.
