What is Krispy Kreme thinking?

It appears as though the powers that be at Krispy Kreme have been watching a little too much of The Boondocks.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, this is their new item, a cheeseburger using donuts for the bun.

It was actually described in a first season episode of the hit [adult swim] series The Boondocks, as you can see here...

Now look, I'm all about a delicious burger, but you have to draw the line somewhere! It works for cartoon characters because they can't die, and even if they do, all it takes is for the artists and writers to make up some story and bring them back.

Like they say in the clip, though, if they serve this thing, it'll cause death. I thought that KFC chicken burger thing was bad, but this is worse.

As much as I'm sitting here complaining about it, part of me is curious. Seems like it'd be one of those things to try once every blue moon, and then hit the gym hard right after.

I'm far from being the most health conscious person around, make no mistake about that, but even I know this is a bad idea. I could understand if they would've done this to tie in to that episode or something ,but that was like 3 or 4 years ago!

Maybe I'm overreacting. What do you guys think? Is this a bad idea, or some kind of retaliation to all the health food nuts out there? Or is it just something different from Krispy Kreme?

I'm not sure, but I did like the deep fried candy bars at the fair last year.... Who knows? Guess we'll just have to try one and see... they might be on to something?
