Solace and Homecoming

A few weeks ago, I lost a good friend of mine to cancer. I try not to bring up such depressing things here on this blog, because, quite frankly, there are more than enough depressing things in this world.

Having said that, yesterday would have been her 30th birthday. The school she worked for took the time to do a bit of a memoriam. They sent balloons up to heaven and everything. It was quite touching from what I hear. I wanted to share this with you all. It was just too touching not to.

So, what does this have to do with homecoming? Well, here on the other side of the state, it is homecoming. Strangely enough, the song the court will be walking out to and the band kids will be playing is one of April's favorites, Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely".

Amazing how things can tie together, huh?

You aren't depressing posting this, quite the contrary. Blogs are for sharing and that you did. I'm very sorry about the loss of your friend. She was horribly young to die. I'm saying a prayer for both of you today.
