I still have a VCR

How many of you have gone strictly to DVD and/or Blu-Ray? Well, I would say I'm one of you, but the fact is, I'm not. My DVD player is a DVD/VCR combo. I use the VCR mainly for stuff that is one-time only and can never be replicated, such as my high school and college graduation, senior recital, tapes of old shows from back in the day (complete with commercials), etc.

what's the point of this, you may ask? Well, I wanted to watch Fat Albert the other day, so I put in the VCR. It's still in there. Stupid thing is eating tapes nowadays. Guess I finally should go get Fat Albert on DVD one of these days...lol

Oh well, better it be something that can be replaces or "upgraded" as opposed to something that would be lost forever.

We have one VCR in the bedroom which doesn't work after the MIL spilled a glass of water all over it and a VCR/DVD combo in the front room which the VCR part doesn't work. Worst thing is we have plenty of tapes we could watch but can't and also can no longer tape stuff to watch later. Just not sure if it's worth it to buy another one...lol.

I don't use either one very much. I still have one that is strictly VCR, not a combo with DVD. Of course, my laptop plays the DVD's. One day I may change over. Of course, I still have trouble working a VCR!!!!
