Kanye West...the supreme douchebag!

As I'm sure you've all heard...ad nausea...by now, Kanye West stormed the VMA stage after Taylor Swift won an award for best video, saying that she didn't deserve the award and Beyonce should have won it.

Now, first of all...Will someone please tell me what the point of the VMAs are these days? Seriously, MTV doesn't play videos anymore, so it kind of makes the show irrelevant, if you ask me. I'm sure there are a more than a few of you that agree with me.

Taylor Swift is not one of my favorite people. I personally think she's overhyped and forced down the public's throats almost as much as Miley Cyrus or the Jonas Brothers. Of course, I'm not a fan of country music, so I'm a little biased against her, but I do listen to everything objectively. She has a few catchy songs, just nothing that has earned her these accolades over more competent, talented artists.

Having said that, she won the award, and as such, she deserved to be able to make her speech. There is no guarantee that she'll win another one. Again, she's country and shouldn't even be on MTV in the first place, but that's a whole different blog. When Kanye stormed the stage, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her. Here she is, a teenager, winning an award on a network that doesn't play her genre, and just as she's about to say thanks to everyone that go her there, here comes gay fish lover (South Park reference), Kanye West, to say she didn't deserve it, but rather Beyonce did.

The cameras panned to Beyonce, and the look on her face was like, "why are you bringing me into this?" In a true moment of class, at the end of the night, though, Beyonce won for like artist of the year or something, and rather than give a speech she yielded the floor to Taylor. This was one of the few parts of the show I actually watched, so I was a little confused about why the audience was cheering her on so, then a few minutes later, I found out about this whole Kanye situation, and it made sense.

Kanye West...what hasn't been said about this guy. I'm not going to sit here and rant and rave on him. Why? It's not because what he did isn't worth a good old rant, but rather the fact that this has become a bit of a tradition whenever Kanye is at an awards show. Only difference is that he didn't have any songs/videos up for awards this year, as far as I know, so he just used Beyonce as an excuse to get up there on stage. This is after all the (self-proclaimed) voice of the generation. He and that Spencer dude must have gone to the same ego school.

Since the event, Kanye has been going around doing the whole media blitz to repair his image. Not so sure its working, though. He didn't have the best image to begin with. Only thing that may be going for him is the fact that Taylor accepted his apology. Too bad it took those hens on The View calling him out to do what is right, though.

He apologized not because he meant it but because of the backlash. He HAD to. I think we all know that which is why I don't even care about his so called apology. He kept doing it publicly but NOT to her. Finally after all the the bad press he calls her and apologizes. Who will he do it to next I wonder? And when will he stop getting invited to awards shows?? LOL What is up with that? He has done this kind of thing too many times. His ego is huge. He needs to be whacked down off that high horse. haha

I do believe our good friend Kanye simply goes out and does something stupid every now and again so that he'll still appear relevant to the public. By the way, the "gay fish" South Park episode was a perfect rip on good ol' Kanye.

Yup, I and my friends thought the same thing, we figured it was all a set up by Kanye West in order to make someone’s career grow or prevent from going down…that’s Hollywood for you!!! Nothing is ever real expect maybe for some “real life” shows/reality shows, but even those, I’m sure, are edited to a certain extent.

Mike- I would have called him worse, myself, but I was trying to keep it PG...lol

Sandi- i wish he would stop getting invited, but ironically, these little outbursts are why he gets invited.

Hawg- after this, i wonder if the South Park guys will have another one for us this season...lol

jcjude- tell me you don't actually think reality shows are real...they're about as real as WWE
