This better not be a trend

Thursday night may have marked the end of reruns as we all know and love them. Why do I say that? Well, Fox decided to experiment with what they are calling a Tweetpeat, which is a rerun but with people twittering live during it and select tweets showing up on screen. during Fringe and I believe they did it Friday, as well, during Glee.

I'm no fan of Twitter as it stands, and see this as nothing more than a way to justify the showing of reruns and capitalize on Twitter's popularity. It annoyed the living daylights out of me to see that stuff up there and really took away from the experience and enjoyment.

On the other hand, as annoyed as I was with the tweets, it was better to see a rerun on than some more crappy reality show that lord knows we don't need any more of. If they must continue with this, then they need to find a better way to show the tweets besides taking up half the screen. We get enough of that with the in-show advertisements!

I so totally agree with you!! I watched the same Fringe and was thinking to myself WTF????

It better only be re-runs that get this treatment.

sounds incredibly annoying! I actually like reruns. On the other hand I cannot stand reality shows. I really wish that trend would end FAST.

At least the Pop Up video version of LOST gave us some useful information. I agree, no more tweeter on tv shows!

Web-Betty- i doubt that they'll be putting these things on new shows, but you never know these days.

Sandi- i've been hoping the reality trend would end for years now. *sigh* it'll happen one of these days, i just know it

Descartes- pop up version of Lost? must've missed that, but then i don't watch lost, so that may be why...lol

I don't tend to watch reruns unless I missed that episode. Glad I didn't tune in...
