This is a political issue?

Earlier this week, it was announced that President Obama would be speaking to students K-12 across the country. Of course, this has to be turned into an issue, because everything a Democratic president does is meant to further their agenda, right? not so fast!

The main purpose of this speech is to speak about the importance of education, something that affects all parties, races, creeds, colors, etc. I don't understand the outrage. If he were going on there to talk about his health care plan, economic policies, the war, etc., it would make sense for Conservatives to be up in arms, but he wants to speak about educational importance.

Hell, if someone would have taken the time to tell me how important an education was, i may have ended up higher than #6 in my high school class and it wouldn't have taken 6 yrs to graduate college (not counting the major switch and classes being offered at odd intervals).

Maybe its just me, though, but I don't think there is any reason for people to be pulling their kids from school that day, threatening to have teacher and administrators fired if they show the speech, etc., over this.

Then again, they are claiming he's going to "brainwash" their children. I could go into a whole different rant on that, but I won't, as it's just a classic example of how closed minded some people are.
