I was chatting with a friend last night and she was telling me the story of how her neighbor just had a baby, but wouldn't touch it.
Shocked and appalled? I know I was, especially after I found out that both she and her husband are, as my friend put it, "black as night". However, the baby was as white as snow, and apparently, this is the reason she wouldn't touch it.
I don't know if the dad felt the same way, but this made me sick to my stomach to even think that someone who just gave birth to a beautiful baby because its not the same color is just plain wrong.
The only way I could even fathom such behavior would be if it was the dad who refused to hold it thinking maybe it wasn't his.
*SIGH* Don't you just love the way people act these days. What do you think about this?

well someone has to touch it, or that's child neglect. A baby was recently killed around here because the dad sat it in it's car seat and it stayed there for 5 days with no food or water. It disgusts me. I have no idea how someone could not love or want their child. If they feel that way there is adoption. SO many people want a child desperately.
Your friend mentioned this to someone else...right? It doesn't even seem possible to me. There isn't much to think except it is awful for that child...and I hope somebody nearby can help everyone involved.
How heart-breaking!
You didn't say where they live? Maybe they are not educated, believe in curses or something and think the sight of such an unexpected "color" baby terrified them?? I have no idea. Very interesting.
It's possible that the mom has post-partum depression and is in need of some serious help. For both their sakes (the child's and hers) I hope they do get some assistance.
very sad, that's what i think...
