I'm not one to usually watch news shows, but I do occasionally flip and catch the funny parts of Countdown with Keith Olberman. Tonight I was flipping through and caught some guy on CNN (i think) about to have a cow because Mrs. Obama put her hand on the queen's back and that they gave her an ipod.
Now, if this guy was British, I'd be able to forgive it a little, but to the best of my knowledge, he was as American as warm apple pie. I'm totally dumbfounded as to how and why people are making such a big deal out of this. To hear him talk, they tried to assassinate the queen. So what if Mrs. Obama made a slip in etiquette. Can any of us say they haven't slipped up when they had to use their better etiquette? I think not.
As far as the ipod goes. I'm sure we all have given a present to someone that they already have. It happens and isn't that big of a deal. No need to cause a big fuss over it. However, since there are those still bitter about the election, can't stand Obama, and will do any and everything to bring him down, they find the smallest thing, pounce on it and turn it into a "news" story.
There are more important things to report on than this, such as the grass growing!

I didn't know it was bad to touch the queens back. Where do they come up with these rules?
dude, i don't have a clue. must be sone unwritten law somewhere, or its in some old book undeerneath the palace that they'll use as the plot for the next National TReasure or something...lol
the funny thing is that the queen touched mrs obama first... a sign of affection she rarely shows.
secondly, the ipod was requested by the queen. along with that was a very rare collection of music from her generation.
both things sparked the loons on CNN and FauxNews to froth at the mouth at obama failing miserably only for both incidents to be greatly lauded by the rest world as tremendous successes.
if you want true news these days you have to watch the cable news networks and then take the exact OPPOSITE of what they say, hehe.
