Petty elitists

So, it's 6 AM, the little woman and I are still asleep, getting those last minutes of sleep in before the alarm starts blaring when all of a sudden the doorbell rings. I don't know about you, but someone ringing the bell at 6 AM is never a good thing, unless they're expected. This was no exception.

I've mentioned before about how my grandfather's car hasn't moved in quite some time and how the people that live in this complex want to remove things they think aren't good enough.

Apparently, one of them called the police and complained about my grandfather's car, but did it anonymously. So, now I have 30 days to prove that it starts, move it to a garage, or donate it to charity, or they'll come tow and impound it.

So, I guess apparently, just because it hasn't moved in years, and isn't a recent model like everybody else (myself included), they want it gone. Isn't that messed up?

What are your thoughts on this? I'm curious to hear what you have to say.

Um - it hasn't been moved in years?

I consider myself a "live and let live" kind of neighbor - but when you use the word "years" to describe the length of time the car has been parked outside, I'm afraid the neighbors may have a point. Sorry.

Well, what is it hurting anyone? You always have to have a neighbor who is the parking lot police. Now six in the morning is way too early too. I'd be pissed.

Try to have a nice day. :)

If the car is registered then it doesn't matter if it hasn't moved in years.

Kathy- no, it hasn't been movioed in 2 yrs becuse a belt broke and i can't get the hood up to fix it. however, it hasn't been abandoned like I think they believe

Sandee- i don't know what its hurting, other than these petty neighbors who think it's brining down property value or something. The little woman wasn't happy about answering the door at 6 in the morning, either. She was pissed the entire day.

Lou- yes, its registered, though in a different state and i need to renew the plates
