Laissez Bon Temp Roulez

For those of you that can't translate French, the title means "Let the Good Times Roll". With Mardi Gras coming up next week, and a slew of parades in the next few days, not to mention a nice 3 day vacation that I more than need.

I've heard talk over the past few years about making Mardi Gras a national holiday. Now, as happy as I would be to have another national holiday, as Sara over at News from Nola brought up in a post last week or so, Mardi Gras is one of the few things that we down here in Louisiana can call our own (even if it was originally a French celebration...not going to go into the whole history, though).

In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy my days off from work, and then figure out what I'm going to give up for Lent. Don't really have a clue this year. I'm sure I'll figure out something. Any suggestions?

For those of you not in La (I think there are only like 2 or 3 of you that are down here), have fun being jealous...lol (he says as if he's going to be partying it up in New Orleans)

One of these days I'm going to make it down from Canada during Mardi Gras. I've been to New Orleans a few times and love it there. Enjoy!
