Don't Fear the Reaper

Last year, a show debuted on the CW network called Reaper. It centered around Sam, a college dropout stuck working a dead end job whose parents sold his soul to the devil for some kind of trouble they got into earlier in their life. Due to this deal, Sam has to work for the devil as his bounty hunter capturing escaped souls and sending them back to hell. With the help of his friends Sock and Ben, Sam has sent countless souls to hell, but life has gotten confusing for our young bounty hunter, as his love life sometimes gets in the way, the relationship with his demon neighbors leads to explosive consequences, etc

Sounds pretty good, huh? I loved this show when it started, but there were a few episodes where it just seemed to drag on. Then came the writer's strike. During the strike some new episodes aired and they were awesome Just as I was getting back into the show, American Idol started and they would be on at the same time. Sadly, I don't have a Tivo. now that I think about, I'm not sure why I just didn't set the VCR...anyway, so I missed all the good episodes. This summer I've been catching up on them, though. I must say, I'm falling love with this show all over again.

Shame that when the season starts I'm going to have to wait until January for new episodes. That sucks! What's even worse is that Gossip Girl, which is also on CW, has much lower ratings, but was immediately picked up for full season, but Reaper had to wait until the last minute and doesn't get a full season. WTF?!? Of curse, CW is more interested in alienating all the male viewers it seems like. They've sent Smackdown packing, and in case you haven't noticed every show on there is geared toward women. Smallville may be the only thing that passes for a guy show left on there, and it's nearing the end of its run. Seriously, how much longer can Clark not be Superman?

I urge you to give Reaper a shot if you haven't already. As Blue Oyster Cult sang. "Don't Fear the Reaper". Of course, the show could use more cowbell...lol (kudos if you got that reference)
