I found myself thinking of what it will be like when I get old. The reason for this is that I recently watched Cocoon. In it, the older people live in a nice retirement community and listen to some of the greatest music of all time. Big band jazz.
Now, I'm not going to sit here and go into what life will be like when and if I make it to that age, but I do wonder is jazz going to be dead by then? Will those of us in my generation sit around jamming to the music of the 80s and 90s instead?
I hate to say yes to that question because I'm a huge jazz lover, but I also love the 80s and 90s. So, for me, I'd probably be listening to it all, but I am curious...what about you? Thoughts? Opinions?

Well, speaking as an "old fart" myself, I don't think there's really that much of a generation gap as there used to be when I was younger. I listen to most types of music (even some hip-hop)and enjoy music from the 60's right up to the present.
