An article posted here really bothered me. As a former band student, I know the rush one gets from performing in front of thousands of fans every Saturday. Not to mention, the recruiting that each performance does for the school.
According to the article, the Badger band has the equivalent of a rap sheet and these latest activities were just the nail in the coffin. While I understand the decision to suspend the band, I can't help but feel for those that kept their noses clean. They're being punished because of the stupidity of others.
I can just hear that phone conversation to their parents. I would imagine some irate parents and alumni will do something about this, but then again you never know.
It's really sad this had to happen, but you know what they say, any publicity is good publicity.
Can't argue with that logic. Why else would there be an article about a band on ESPN.com? The only time they mention the band is when they show clips of the California running back running through the Stanford band or they show clips of the Bayou Classic between Southern University and Grambling State University.
Of course, this will all be forgotten by Tuesday at the latest, except for those that attend Wisconsin. Hopefully they'll learn from this.

Good grief! Sounds like American Pie X 2! Couldn't the goofy kids control themselves enough to keep their antics on the down-low? I'd hate to be a parent to one of the 'good' kids and wonder what they'd been subjected to.
